St. Aloysius Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) is for students in grades 1-8 who attend public school. PREP works with families to provide opportunities for students to grow in their faith and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Students are prepared in first and second grades to celebrate the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. Students in seventh and eighth grades are prepared to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. Registration forms are available on the parish web site (http://bit.ly/parishforms2, and go to PREP forms), in the back of church, and from the parish office. Please register by August 1. We like to place students in classes with children they know from the school they attend. Classes begin August 25.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, which is better known as RCIA, is a process designed for three different groups of people: (1) adults (age 7 and older) who are not baptized and would like to join the Catholic Church, (2) adults who were baptized as children into the Catholic faith, but who have not completed their initiation in the Church because they have not celebrated their First Eucharist and/or Sacrament of Confirmation, and (3) adults who have been validly baptized in another Christian denomination and who now want to be received in the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds into the RCIA process. Here at St. Aloysius our RCIA groups meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:45, beginning September 15th. If you don’t already do so, we strongly encourage you to begin to attend Mass weekly. Those unable to join in receiving Eucharist are encouraged to go through the Communion line with their arms crossed to receive a blessing. Contact Mary Hynes at the parish office if you are interested in beginning the RCIA process 502-241-8452.
It is finally Spring, and that means we are busy here at St. Aloysius. Take a break from the hustle and bustle and take a few minutes and check out our latest Parish Newsletter. There is a lot of important information, especially about the summer picnic! You can read it here, http://bit.ly/nwslet419 .

Last year our parish began a journey to eliminate our $2,000,000 debt. The plan was to eliminate this debt over a three year period of time. Just one year later we are halfway there! Thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many, we have now paid over $1,000,000 of our parish debt. That is one half of the debt, paid in one third of the time. That is simply amazing!
Applications for the 2019-2020 school year are online. What better gift to give your child than the gift of a Catholic education. Tour and shadow options are always available by calling the school office at 241-8516 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Save the date for our first round of kindergarten readiness tests the week of January 28-February 1. We look forward to meeting all our new Eagles!

Child care will begin on Sept. 9th this year and will follow the PREP schedule. Please enter through the back entrance of the school near the playground. We are looking for adults and youth to volunteer for this ministry. In order to continue to offer this service, parents using this service may be asked to help a few times during the year dependent upon how many volunteers we have.
