Walk for St. Aloysius May 9, 2008
St. Aloysius students, parents, faculty, and staff will be walking on Friday, May 9th to raise funds for the Fr. Vincent Schweizer Scholarship and the St. Aloysius Financial Assistance Fund. Please support this effort by sponsoring a student, making a donation, or becoming a family or business sponsor. Our goal is to award four eighth grade students with scholarships to continue their Catholic Education and help current St. Aloysius Families who may need tuition assistance. We can reach our goals with everyone supporting these efforts. Please contact Diane Guy (742-2441) or Andrea Stauble (241-3138) with any questions! Thanks for your support!
It's that time again.
The St. Aloysius Women's Club will be disbursing the money we have raised this year to organizations that need funding. If your organization is looking for financial assistance for any upcoming projects, please submit a written request to the Women's Club by Friday, May 9 detailing the organization, project, funds needed and the time frame for your request. Any questions can be directed to Jan Gray at 243-3692.
PARISH COUNCIL NOMINATIONS!
We are now receiving nominations for membership on Parish Council. There are three seats that will serve threeyear terms starting officially on July 1, 2008 and lasting until June 30, 2011. In addition, there are three seats that will serve two-year terms starting officially on July 1, 2008 and ending on June 30, 2010. The meetings are normally held monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 7:00pm in the conference room of the Parish Office. Nomination forms are available in the Parish Office. You may nominate someone (with his or her permission) or you may obtain a form for yourself. The deadline for nominations is May 18 and the selection will take place at Hospitality Sunday on June 1. If you have any questions, please call Michael Johnson at 644.5841.
Fr. Martin's Farewell
Join us in wishing Fr. Martin good luck on his new assignments on Sunday, June 1st from 1pm until 3pm in Mt. Mercy Cafeteria. We want to give him a big St. Aloysius send-off thanking him for all the wonderful work he has done over the past two years, and to let him know all that he has meant to the entire parish community of St. Aloysius. So please stop by, wish Fr. Martin all the best, and let him know that he is ALWAYS welcome at St. Aloysius.
All American Country Picnic
Save the dates!! The St. Aloysius 2008 Picnic will be June 20 and 21. This year we are looking for a parishioner to take over the Chair of the Gaming. Thanks so much to Jim Tedesco for his past experience and willingness to do this for us--it has always been a tremendous success and a key aspect to the success of our Picnic! Now it is time for someone else to take over the reigns. If you are that special person interested in taking over, or have any questions, please contact Jim Kramer at 243-0467 or jkramer@kramerconsulting.com. As always, sign ups will be coming, as we get closer to the dates--so keep June 20 and 21 open for a weekend of fun and fellowship!
St. Aloysius, Pewee Valley Catholic School Reunion set for 2008 Picnic
Did you go to St. Aloysius in Pewee Valley? For one year or for nine it does not matter. We invite you to come back home for the Picnic this summer for an all class reunion on June 21, 2008. The reunion is not just for the students though. We want all the parents and teachers there as well. In organizing this endeavor, however, we need your help in tracking everyone down. If you are a former student, parent or teacher please call or email Jim Meyers at 502-777-4924 and jim.meyers@insightbb.com and provide your name, email address, home address, phone number and year you (or your child/children) graduated from 8th grade (even if you/they didn’t eventually graduate St. Aloysius but rather another school). Chances are if you are a former student, parent or teacher you still know at least one other person who fits these categories as well so please send your information to us as soon as you can to ensure a good turnout.

Special Announcement!!!
We are pleased to announce that St Aloysius now has a system in place for those who are hearing challenged. We have tested it with several parishioners over the past few weeks and found that it is a wonderful assistance to those of us who have trouble hearing everything that is spoken or sung. Please contact one of the ushers at Mass when you arrive to assist you. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our usher coordinator, Ted Luckett, 245-9515. If you would like to purchase your own personal headset, the cost will be $99 each.
