There are several routes one can take to join the Catholic Church. For many, this involves what is known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This process of learning about the Catholic faith uses classes, reflection and prayer, and may take anywhere from three months to a year, depending on the readiness of the person. This all takes place at the parish and involves the entire church community.
Christian Initation sessions for adults meet on Sunday mornings at the 11:00 a.m. Mass. All are invited and welcome to attend and take part at any time throughout the year. Children over the age of seven who have not yet been baptized take part in a similar, age-appropriate process (Children’s Catechumenate), leading to their reception of the three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist).
